“Not cured. Moving.”

“I’ll be straight with you because I hate reviews that aren’t. My knee is not fixed. I still know it’s there. But I’m standing up at six instead of six-ten, and I’ve stopped sitting down on the stairs.”

From Charlotte's story

This is the warmer she describes. Here's the part she couldn't give you.

Her page explains why a knee is fine by ten and cold at six. This page shows you what's in the box, what it costs, and the way back out, in writing.

Skipped the story? It's a five-minute read, and it's where the honey comes from. Read it first.

There's a clinical name for those first ten minutes. The Cleveland Clinic calls it morning gel.1

The four sources are further down, with their limits.

Bought for painful knees.

“Simple operation and setup. My model performs flawlessly. The heat is strong even on the first setting. The massage is also clearly noticeable. Bought for painful knees. I recommend it.”

Took me about a week

“First two mornings I didn't notice much and I nearly sent it back. Somewhere around day five it clicked. If you try it, give it the full week.”

The device

Five heat levels. One timer. No cord.

  • Five heat levels, from 113°F to 149°F. Start on the lowest.Far-infrared heating panel across the front and both sides of the knee. The top settings are hot-compress levels, not morning levels.
  • A built-in timer stops it at the end of the session. No clock to watch. Fifteen minutes is the routine; the device does the stopping.
  • Cordless. A 5000 mAh battery and the charging cable in the box.No wall plug in the box. It lives on the nightstand, not by the outlet.
  • Two wide hook-and-loop straps on a soft neoprene wrap, 20 inches across laid flat, either leg.Just under 10 ounces, about a paperback. If it doesn't fit, it goes back inside the 90 mornings.
  • A vibration massage, three speeds. We make no claims for it.Use it if you like it, or leave it off. The routine is built around the heat.
What arrives: the knee warmer, its charging cable, and the 90-morning guide open on a phone

US self-pay prices: MDsave, estimated national average for a physical therapy visit, and WebMD, cortisone shot, injection only.

Black Friday presale: the Deep-Thaw™ Knee Warmer is $99 instead of $129, for the first 50. 50 of the 50 are left at this price; then it's $129 again, and on November 30 at the latest.

The way back out

You've already paid for a sleeve and a pad that missed. This time, if it misses, the money comes back.

90 mornings, counted from the day it arrives.

  1. Use it. Low setting, fifteen minutes, sitting on the bed, every morning you can.
  2. If your mornings aren't easier, email info.hearthstride@gmail.com. No reason needed, no form.
  3. A human replies within one business day with a return address.
  4. Once the device is back, we refund the full $99 to your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days.

Return postage is on you, unless it arrived damaged or faulty.

2 years. Battery covered. 90 mornings to try it.

And a 2-year warranty, in writing. Whole device, battery and charging port.

The complaint that comes back in Amazon reviews of cordless knee warmers is a device that quits between month two and month seven. If yours stops heating or charging, email us your order number and a short photo. We send a replacement, at no cost to you.

Ninety mornings is long enough to know. If it isn't yours by then, it comes back, and so does the money.

How you use it

Fifteen minutes, before the first step.

No app, no outlet, nothing to set up at six in the morning.

  1. 1Strap it on

Sit on the edge of the bed. Two wide straps, either leg.

  2. 2Switch it on

Start on the lowest level, 113°F. The built-in timer stops it at the end of the session.

  3. 3Drink the first half of the coffee

Fifteen minutes later, stand up. The warmer works while you don't.

15 minYour fifteen minutes.

The guide in your inbox covers the settings and the first week, so the first morning isn't a guess.

A woman walking into her kitchen at dawn, standing easily, while a man at the table looks up from his coffee

Tomorrow morning

It's tomorrow morning. The alarm goes.

You sit up on the edge of the bed the way you always do, and you reach for it instead of waiting.

Fifteen minutes, warm on the joint, while you drink the first half of the coffee. Then it stops, and you stand up once.

And you walk to the kitchen without the little calculation you do every day about how far it is. Whoever usually gets there first looks up, because you're early.

That's it. That's the whole product.

Before you order

The questions that come up at this point

Fifteen minutes? I'm already losing ten.

You are. And you spend them doing nothing but waiting. Switch it on and the fifteen minutes are yours: the coffee, the phone, the radio. The warmer works while you don't. Then it stops, and you stand up once.

I already have a heating pad.

A pad lives by the outlet, lies flat against a round joint, has no timer, and slides off when you bend the leg. This one lives on the nightstand, wraps the joint, stays on while you reach for the coffee, and stops itself at the end of the session.

Is it worth spending this on myself?

Count what the ten minutes already cost you: the plans you make around them, the early departures, the person who waits. One payment, and ninety mornings to see whether it earns its place. If it doesn't, it goes back.

I've seen cheaper heated wraps online.

So have we, and some of them look a lot like ours. A wrap like this one sells for under $40 at the big-box stores, and it will warm your knee. What it doesn't come with is the 90-morning guide, ninety mornings to decide, a 2-year warranty that names the battery, and a human who answers. If a cheaper one does your mornings, keep it. If yours quit before the year was out, you know why we wrote the warranty the way we did.

How long does delivery take?

It isn't two-day shipping, and we'd rather say so now than have you watch the mailbox. The real timing is on our shipping page. Shipping is free.

Is it heavy on the knee?

Just under 10 ounces with the battery in. About a paperback. It's the weight of a book, not a brace.

Can I use it in the evening too?

Yes, as long as the knee isn't swollen, red or hot. Heat is for stiffness. For swelling, use cold instead. And never fall asleep wearing it.

My doctor said it's arthritis. Does that change anything?

No. Morning gel is well documented in osteoarthritis. This is about the first ten minutes of your day, not about what your X-ray shows. Heat won't change the X-ray, and we don't claim it will.

Can I use it after a knee replacement?

Ask your surgeon first. Whether heat is right for you after surgery, and when, is a question for them, not for us.

The first cold mornings are here.

Spend tomorrow's ten minutes waiting, or on the coffee while the knee gets ready without you. Ninety mornings to find out, $99 once.
